Offaly walkers warned of fireworks in flowerbeds
Walkers in Edenderry are being warned of Halloween-related anti-social behaviour in recent days.
A resident took to social media on Monday to alert people to young people lighting and setting off fireworks on the town's main street.
It's understood the woman was walking on JKL Street when a firework ignited within one of the many planter boxes placed on JKL Street by the Edenderry Tidy Towns committee last year.
The woman was startled and reported a group engaging in the anti-social practice. No significant damage was caused to the planter boxes on Monday evening.
Residents are being told to be vigilant for such behaviour and to report it.
Elsewhere, the use of fireworks has been causing disruption throughout the town with a number of pet owners reporting that their animals are frightened by the sound of fireworks.
