Tullamore businesses to close Friday morning as mark of respect for late Jordan Murphy

A number of businesses in Tullamore will remain closed on Friday morning as a mark of respect for the late Jordan Murphy.

The 18-year-old Athlone IT student died tragically on Tuesday after he was struck be a vehicle outside the college. 

Jordan will be reposing at O'Reilly's Funeral Home, Harbour Street, Tullamore on Thursday from 4pm until Rosary that night at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday morning at 10am in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore. Burial after Mass in Clonminch Cemetery, Tullamore.

Tullamore Credit Union will not open until 12.30pm tomorrow (Friday) as a mark of respect. In a post on Facebook, Tullamore Credit Union stated:

"Due to the untimely passing of Jordan Murphy the office will be closed on Friday 14th of September until 12.30pm. The staff and directors of Tullamore Credit Union Ltd extend their deepest sympathies to our esteemed colleague and friend Siobhan and to all her family during this difficult time."

As part of a moving tribute on Facebook, The Brewery Tap also announced that it will remain closed until 12pm on Friday as a mark of respect to their former colleague.
