Tributes paid following death of beloved Offaly postman

Tributes have been paid following the death of Michael (Mick) Kearns, who served as the postman in Killeigh for many years.

Mick passed away on Friday, September 7, peacefully at home in his 98th year.

The Killurin man, who was pre-deceased by his wife Kit, was surrounded by his family and will be sadly missed by his family Marie, Pat, Dolores, Mikie and Catherine, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

A number of locals paid tribute to Mick with Tricia O'Sullivan capturing the messages perfectly. "Mr Kearns was truly one of life's gentlemen. I am thinking of his family at this sad time."

Funeral Arrangements:

Reposing at his son Mikie's Residence Killurin on Sunday from 4.00pm until Rosary at 9.00pm. Private Removal on Monday morning to arrive in to St. Patrick's Church Killeigh for 11.00am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in Killeigh Cemetery.
