Tánaiste to attend public meeting on Brexit in Offaly

The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Deputy Leader of Fine Gael, Simon Coveney TD will be visiting Birr on Thursday, June 21, to address a public meeting on the Government’s preparations for Brexit.

UPDATE: Tánaiste's Offaly Brexit meeting CANCELLED due to 'unforeseen circumstances'

The meeting will take place at 8pm in Dooly’s Hotel Birr. Welcoming the visit of her Fine Gael colleague to her constituency, Marcella Corcoran Kennedy TD said, "this is the most significant challenge to affect Ireland in a generation and this meeting will be a great opportunity to hear from the Tánaiste on the intensive negotiations that are underway between the European Union and the United Kingdom."

"The ongoing deliberations on the contentious border issue will be of particular interest to the farming and business community," she added.

The Tánaiste will address the meeting and there will be an opportunity for questions and answers afterward for those concerned about the impending impact of Brexit.
