WEATHER WARNING: Met Eireann now warning of 'frequent lightning strikes' and thundery downpours today
Met Eireann has updated the Status Yellow Advisory from yesterday and has now issued a Status Yellow Weather Warning for much of the country.
Offaly is included in the warning along with all of Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Westmeath, Meath, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary.

Met Eireann is warning of thundery downpours with frequent lightning strikes this afternoon and evening. Potentially large amounts of rainfall in a short period of time with spot flooding. The warning is in place from 12 noon to 11pm.
Warm today with hazy sunshine. Largely dry this morning but in the afternoon heavy, thundery showers will develop with spot flooding in parts of the midlands and west. The east and south will stay mainly dry though. Maximum temperatures 20 to 24 degrees in light breezes. pic.twitter.com/LGeSer5v5q
