Gardaí are investigating the theft of two ewes and three lambs from a farm in Birr, Co. Offaly at the weekend.

The theft took place at a farm in Birr between Saturday night, May 5 and the early hours of Sunday morning, May 6, according to gardaí.

Gardaí confirmed to the Offaly Express that investigations are ongoing into the incident which all resulted in the death of a lamb.

The farmer in question, Liam Egan has appeared on Midlands 103 since the incident to express his devasation after a tiny pet lamb had its throat cut during the incident.
