These Offaly roads remain closed due to snow

Offaly County Council crews have been out since first light clearing the remaining local roads throughout the county.

Offaly has 1643km of local roads and the council says "it will take time to clear them safely."

All National Primary, National Secondary and Regional Routes are now passable.

"We again ask motorists to SLOW DOWN and take care as whilst the sun may be out, thawing snow banked on all roads may cause issues," they said.

The following roads remain closed:

• Kinnitty to Mountrath Road, the R440 Regional Road and the L8001-1 (across the Slieve Blooms);
• L-4025-1 and L-4025-2 Kinnitty Road to Roscrea is closed in Kinnitty Village to Brereton’s Pub.
