Two Offaly roads remain closed as conditions improve
Conditions in Offaly continue to improve and while all National Primary, National Secondary, most Regional Roads and many local roads are now passable Offaly County Council is urging all motorists to take great care on all roads.
Two roads still remain closed, both in Kinnitty. The roads are the Kinnitty to Mountrath Road, the R440 Regional Road and the L8001-1 (across the Slieve Blooms) and the L-4025-1 and L-4025-2 Kinnitty Road to Roscrea is closed in Kinnitty Village to Brertons Pub
Frost is forecast overnight and Offaly County Council says this situation will be monitored in accordance with its Winter Maintenance Programme.

Offaly County Council resumed normal business this morning and all public facilities are operating. The Council is grateful to its staff, volunteers, local contractors and public bodies who assisted in many ways in preparing for and responding to the extreme weather situation and its aftermath over the past week.
