The latest Met Eireann Weather Forecast is predicting further heavy falls of snow this evening and tonight with icy conditions and a strong easterly winds. A Status Red Weather Warning is in place for Munster, Leinster and Galway and a Staus Orange in place for the rest of the country.
Forecaster Siobhan Ryan said the warnings are being updated and she expects further updates to come into place this afternoon.
She said that frontal zones are continuing to edge northwards bringing further heavy falls of snow with the emphasis on the south and the east. She added that as the zones pushed forward, they could probably turn to a mix of rain and sleet.
Into tomorrow she is expecting a mix of sleet and snow to start the day which will turn into a mix of sleet and rain later in the day.
