Country shutting down as heavy snow, blizzards and 100km/h winds on the way

Country shutting down as heavy snow, blizzards and 100km/h winds on the way

The public is being urged to get indoors by 4pm today and to stay indoors until tomorrow afternoon as Storm Emma bears down on the country bringing blizzard like conditions in 100km/h winds.

This will lead to a white out in some places with very poor visibility.

The majority of businesses will be closing in the coming hours and will remain closed until the worst of the weather passes tomorrow afternoon. Over a foot of snow has already fallen in some areas and temperatures dropped as low as -7 in some place last night.

A Status Red Weather Warning is in place for the entire country and is in place until 3pm tomorrow.
