It has been announced that all Offaly schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday as a Status Red weather warning comes into force in Leinster and Munster.
Most schools in Offaly were closed today after 10cm of snow fell overnight. Storm Emma and the Beast from the East are expected to meet on Thursday, dumping up to 30cm of snow on the country on Thursday evening and Friday.
Parents can now make alternative plans in the knowledge that their kids will not be in school until next Monday at the earliest.
