As earlier reported by the Offaly Express, Operation Menlo, targeting drug dealers in Offaly has led to 14 people being charged.
As part of an ongoing operation by Gardaí from the Laois/Offaly Division into the sale and supply of controlled substances a total of 14, 3 females and 11 males, were arrested and charged with drug offences.
All 14 will appear before Tullamore District Court at 10.30am on the February 28.
Over the last number of months Gardaí from Birr and Tullamore, assisted by Gardaí from DOCB and the Laois/Offaly Divisional Drugs Unit, were involved in an operation whereby drugs , namely Cocaine, speed, MDMA and Cannabis were sold to undercover Gardaí.
During 15 follow up searches Gardaí seized further controlled substances, cash and items of evidential value.
14 persons were charged with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/84 as amended.
