The Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore is experiencing high levels of attendances with many patients requiring admission today, Monday, February 26.

As a result, the HSE’s Escalation Policy has been activated at the hospital.

In a statement, the HSE has stated, "In order to assist us we are requesting that patients in the first instance, consider using their GP and out of hours GP services for medical assessment, where possible. The Hospital regrets that any patient should experience delays in accessing in-patient beds."

The Escalation Policy was also put in place twice last week.
