Locals slam council over state of 'fixed' Offaly roads

A local resident in Rahan, Co. Offaly, has slammed the council because of the state of the roads outside his house after they were 'fixed' recently.

The resident says he and others on the road have lodged "numerous complaints" about the condition of the road, and claimed that Offaly County Council "finally came out to fix" the road in recent days.

He says he was shocked after inspecting the repair work, and said, remember, "these photographs are the after photographs."

The resident told the Offaly Express that the repair work involved "putting down a tiny amount of tar and digging a hole, recklessly in the ditch opposite to let the water drain out while leaving the potholes clearly visible to see."

"Keep in mind this is a finished job, these are the 'after' pictures," he quipped.
