New Offaly restaurant gets planning go ahead
Offaly County Council has granted permission for a new restaurant and takeaway on River Street in Clara with a number of conditions attached.
The development involves the change of use of a building on River Street from a pharmacy to a new 28-seater restaurant and takeaway.
It also involves the replacement of the roof to match the existing house and demolition of existing one-storey rear extension to accommodate sanitary facilities and a new kitchen.
The application also sought permission to change the use of an existing sitting room in the premises to a retail unit with entrance and associated signage and shopfront.
The planning authority has granted permission with conditions, which include the pre-approval of exterior paint, commitment to adequate waste management, and appropriate signage so as to fit with the current visual amenity in Clara.
