According to Met Eireann, we are in for a nice, albeit cloudy weekend on the weather front with temperatures reaching as high as 13 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
While tonight will rain in many areas with some heavy falls, the rain will tend to ease off in most places towards dawn. That however will lead to extensive low cloud and fog on higher ground. Temperatures falling to between 4 and 8 degrees Celsius this evening but it will rise to between 9 and 11 degrees overnight.
Met Eireann's forecast is for Saturday to be mostly cloudy and mild day with scattered outbreaks of rain, but dry periods also and some brighter spells in some areas at times. Afternoon temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees Celsius in a fresh southwest to west breeze decreasing moderate later.
Saturday night will be mild and cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle, fresh west to southwest winds and no frost.
Sunday will be mild, mostly cloudy and rather windy. Some persistent rain in northern areas at first but otherwise just scattered outbreaks of rain with dry periods also. Mild with afternoon temperatures 10 and 13 degrees Celsius in fresh and blustery southwest winds. Rain will spread southeastwards on Sunday night and frost is unlikely generally but there is a risk in northern parts as the rain clears.
