The weather is going to improve later today
The heavy rain that hit overnight will gradually clear and the forecast is predicting that temperatures will get up to double digits this afternoon, Sunday.
According to Met Eireann, heavy rain will continue for much of the east of the country this morning but it will gradually ease across many western counties.
The rain will have cleared the Leinster coast b mid-afternoon and the weather will become much drier. Highest temperatures today 8 to 13 degrees with blustery southerly winds gradually turning westerly.
Met Eireann is forecasting that it will be generally dry tonight with just a few well scattered passing showers and temperatures staying between 3 and 6 degrees.
Tomorrow, Monday, looks set to be a dry, bright day with only a passing showers and temperatures in the range of 8 to 11 degrees.
