Substantial sum of money stolen in Offaly house burglary

Gardaí are investigating a burglary incident in Edenderry.

During the incident, a large sum of cash was stolen from a house at Assumption Road in the town.

The burglary occurred late on Monday night, January 15, into the early hours of Tuesday, January 16.

It's understood the perpetrators entered through the rear of the house undetected and stole a considerable sum of money.

Gardaí have told the Offaly Express that no arrests have yet been made in relation to this crime but that the investigation is ongoing.

They are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour in the Assumption Road, Cokery, St. Patrick's Road or St. Teresa's Terrace areas of Edenderry on Monday evening to contact them at Edenderry Garda Station on 0469731290.
