Emergency services called as car skids off road in Offaly

Emergency services responded last night after a car left the road near the Offaly village of Bracknagh.

The single-vehicle incident happened as a snow and ice warning gripped the country resulting in treacherous driving conditions in Offaly and further afield.

The Offaly Express understands that the driver of the car sustained just minor injuries when their car skidded off the road on the Bracknagh to Rathangan road at around 9pm on Tuesday night.

Ambulance and Fire Services from Edenderry raced to the scene to attend the driver. The accident was cleared quite quickly and the driver received just minor treatment.
