Gerry Murphy highlights the area of the country that will be worst hit by snow.
Offalyis set to get up to 8cm of snow with perhaps up to 10cm in areas around the Slieve Blooms and other areas in higher ground according to the latest forecast from Met Éireann.
In the latest RTÉ weather bulletin the forecaster said an area stretching from Mayo south west to Wexford would see the heaviest falls.
He highlighted Tipperary as facing possible the heaviest snow meaning South Offaly could be worst hit in the county.

A Status Orange Weather Warning for snow and ice applies from 11pm Saturday night.
