Expect further snow in Offaly today as Weather Warning remains in place

Further snow is forecast for Offaly today as a Met Eireann weather warning remains in place for much of the day.

Offaly is covered by a Status Yellow Weather warning which warns of accumulations of up to 3cm expected up to 6pm today. The forecast is also for some icy roads and footpaths also. Temperatures are predicted to reach a high of just 5 degrees during the day and dropping as low as -4 tonight.

Saturday will start very frosty and icy and frost could linger in places through the day

There is a Status Orange snow-ice warning in place for today for Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. Accumulations of snow of 4cm to 8cm are expected.
