Gusserane O'Rahillys 0-4
Offaly champions Rhode brushed aside the challenge of Wexford champions Gusserane O'Rahillys to secure their place in the next round of the Leinster Club Senior Football Championship.
Rhode utterly dominated the first-half building up a 4-10 to 0-1 lead and Paschal Kellaghan's side did not let up in the second-half outscoring their hosts by 1-12 to 0-3.
Rhode were at it from the start in New Ross with goals from Ruairi McNamee and Niall McNamee leaving them 2-3 to 0-0 ahead just seven minutes.
The scores kept coming for the Offaly champions and when Paul McPadden found the back of the net after 20 minutes, Rhode were 3-7 to 0-0 ahead. Niall McNamee added another goal soon after as the home side were left chasing shadows with Rhode scoring at their ease.
The home side eventually got on the board but Rhode kept the scoreboard ticking over and they went to the break with a 21 point lead.
Sometimes when teams get such a big lead, they can become complacent but Rhode showed no such mercy to their hosts and they kept the scores rolling in the second-half. They had 4-17 on the board before the Wexford side added a second score midway through the second-half.
And there was still time for a fifth goal for Rhode with Paul McPadden finding the back of the net to secure an incredible 33 point win.
Rhode now host Meath champions Simonstown Gaels after they defeated Donaghmore-Ashbourne in the Meath county final.
