Another generation of recruits join the cub scouts in Tullamore

Avalanche of new members welcomed into the cub pack recently

TULLAMORE cub scouts welcomed an avalanche of new recruits into the cub pack recently.

Cub scouts take part in adventures in the Slieve Blooms recently doing an 8k hike in Glenbarrow.

Life skills such as teamwork and leadership form an integral part of the cub scout programme.

Cub scouts is a youth led group providing unique opportunities inclusive to all.

Tullamore scout group also welcomed newly appointed scouters Olivia Kelly Alan Loughrey (chairman) Louise Koutska (secretary) Kevin McDermott (assistant treasurer) and Martin Mitchell.

At the recent AGM Marie Martin was elected Group Leader and David Dunne as Deputy Group Leader.

Photo shows Councillor Shane Murray who presented five fruit trees to the sixers on the five patrols.

In his speech to the group he congratulated the children on joining scouting wished them many adventures.

He praised the group for keeping going in the community for over 50 years and offered any support necessary.
