A YOUNG motorist has been disqualified from driving after being uninsured in a collision.

Garda Damien Fleming told Tullamore District Court that Vasile Buguta (19), The Sycamores, Edenderry, was a driver he spoke to when he took a report on a material damage collision at Tesco, Dublin Road, Edenderry on September 26 last.

Garda Fleming said no insurance was produced covering the date of the collision but a policy was taken out afterwards on October 9. He added that Mr Buguta had no previous convictions.

The accused, who was not present in court, was fined €750 and banned from driving for two years by Judge Andrew Cody.
