Hearing will take place at Tullamore District Court
A MAN accused of shoplifting did not appear before Tullamore District Court because he had been assaulted, Judge Andrew Cody was told.
Aisling Maloney, solicitor, said her client John Murphy (43), Cloncollig, Tullamore, had been the victim of a “brutal” assault.
Mr Murphy is accused of stealing property worth €210 from Lidl and an item valued at €13.49 from Woodie's DIY on December 11 last in Tullamore.
Judge Cody remanded the man on continuing bail to April 14 next for a court hearing.
