Hearing will take place at Tullamore District Court

A HEARING has been scheduled in relation to a drugs charge denied by a Tullamore man.

Shane McLoughlin (40), Chancery Close, Tullamore, is accused of two charges under the Misuse of Drugs act - possessing drugs and possessing them for sale or supply to others.

The charges alleged he committed both offences at his address on October 23 last.

At Tullamore District Court, Mr McLoughlin's barrister, David Nugent, said that while the man would be pleading guilty to possession of the drugs, he would not accept the second charge.

The court was also told that certification of the drugs would not be required from Forensic Science Ireland.
