New sport facility with a difference planned for Offaly

A new sport facility with a difference is being planned for Offaly. Permission is being sought for the construction of a sport facility building enclosing three padel courts in the county.

If given permission by Offaly County Council, the facility would be built at Mangans Service Station in Edenderry.

The plans submitted to the council call for the demolition of two existing commercial units and the partial demolition and modifications to an existing commercial unit on the Dublin Road.

As well as the padel courts, also included in the plans are an entrance lobby and a separate WC block and three EV charging units.

A decision from Offaly County Council is due in late February.
