Man paid compensation at Tullamore District Court
A MAN paid €300 compensation for damaging the door and window of a Tullamore bookmaker.
Volodymyr Bykadorov (40), with an address at Convent of Mercy, Frankford, Kilcormac paid in cash when he appeared at Tullamore District Court.
At a sitting of the court Mr Bykadorov pleaded guilty to damaging the property at BoyleSports, William Street, Tullamore on November 7 last.
At that sitting Judge Andrew Cody was told by Sergeant Brendan Kearns that the man was highly intoxicated and a danger to himself when gardai arrived.
He had one previous conviction for public drunkenness dating from November 2024.
Mr Bykadorov told Judge Andrew Cody he would pay compensation for the damage in a month.

When the accused appeared in court again today (Wednesday, January 7) he was assisted in understanding the proceedings by a Russian speaker and he indicated he had the compensation payment.
Asked by Judge Cody if he wished to say anything, Mr Bykadorov said he did not. The court, which had previously been told he was not working but was volunteering in Tullamore, heard he was on a disability payment.
The judge imposed a fine of €200.
