Offaly woman disqualified for two years for drink driving

A Birr woman was disqualified from holding a driving licence for two years for drink driving during last week's sitting of Tullamore District Court

A BIRR woman was disqualified from holding a driving licence for two years for drink driving during last week's sitting of Tullamore District Court.

Mary Donoghue (59), 21 E, Woodland Villas Birr was stopped by the Guards on November 12 last on Pound Street Birr.

Her alcohol reading was 55 microgrammes, which exceeded the regulatory 22 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

Sergeant Brendan Kearns told the court that Ms Donoghue was arrested following a road traffic collision between her car and a parked vehicle.

She had no previous convictions.

Judge Andrew Cody convicted and fined €200 and disqualified as stated.
