Man with 38 previous convictions fined for possession of small amount of drugs

A DEFENDANT pleaded guilty to being in possession of a small amount of drugs during the November 5 sitting of Tullamore District Court.

Gerard Dinnegan, 11 Comagh Road, Kilbeggan committed the offence at 14 Brosna Park, Kilbeggan on June 23 last.

Sergeant Brendan Kearns told the court that Mr Dinnegan had 38 previous convictions, including 9 for road traffic offences and 21 for public order offences.

The defending solicitor Aisling Maloney said her client had no previous convictions for drug-related matters.

Judge Andrew Cody convicted and fined €200.
