Woman appeared at District Court and was sent to Circuit Court

A WOMAN has been ordered to appear at next week's sitting of Tullamore Circuit Court accused of stealing over €37,000 from a charity in Offaly.

A book of evidence was served on Aulwin Goode (47), Marian Place, Tullamore when she appeared before the District Court on Wednesday.

Garda Stacey O'Brien gave evidence of serving the book and said the DPP had consented to Ms Dunne being sent for trial to the Circuit Court but did not consent for her being sent forward on a signed plea.

Ms Dunne is alleged to have stolen €37,705.83, the property of Power4Good Ireland Ltd on 19 unknown dates between April 1, 2023 and October 31, 2024 at Power4Good, River Street, Clara.

Garda O'Brien told the District Court she wished to amend the charge by adding the words “both dates inclusive”.

Judge Valerie Corcoran made that amendment.

Aisling Maloney, solicitor, appeared for Ms Dunne and said legal aid had already been granted.

Judge Corcoran made the order sending the woman, who is on bail, to the next sitting of Tullamore Circuit Court on Tuesday, October 7.
