Gardaí in the Midlands seized eight vehicles during multi-agency checkpoints on Tuesday
Laois Roads Policing Unit conducted the checkpoints together with the representatives from the Road Safety Authority(RSA) and the Department of Social Welfare.
Gardai say a variety of offences detected including no insurance, no CRW (Certificate of Roadworthiness), no NCT, no tax, bald tyres.
Gardai also said that they met one 'chancer' who produced a false driving licence.
They said eight vehicles were seized during the checkpoints across Laois.
