Ban handed out in Tullamore District Court for motorist using mobile while driving
A six-month driving ban was imposed on a man when he was convicted of holding a mobile phone while driving for the fourth time.
Garda Declan Miley detected Donal Forde (37), Corr, Killimor, Ballinasloe, Co Galway committing the offence while driving on the M6 at Kilbeg, Co Westmeath on February 9 last.
Garda Miley told Tullamore District Court a fixed charge notice had not been paid and among the man's 20 previous convictions were three for holding a mobile phone while driving.
Mr Forde, who was not present in court, was fined €750 and banned from driving for six months by Judge Andrew Cody.
