One man has been killed and another injured after a crash this morning involving two vans and crane in Offaly
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision near Edenderry this morning, Wednesday August 27.
The collision involving a crane and two vans occurred on the R401 at Drumcooly at approximately 6:15am.
The driver of one of the vans, a male in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver (30s) of the other van was brought to Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The road is closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and will conduct its own investigation.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6:00am and 6:30am on Wednesday morning, 27th August, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
