Clara Water Treatment plant
UISCE Éireann is advising customers in Clara, Ferbane, and surrounding areas of essential overnight water restrictions due to a mechanical fault at the Clara-Ferbane Water Treatment Plant.
To maintain daytime supply for homes and businesses in Clara, Ferbane, Doon, Shannonbridge, Shannon Harbour, Belmont, and nearby areas, restrictions will be in place from 11 pm to 7 am starting tonight (Friday) and continuing over the weekend.
James Joyce of Uisce Éireann said the restrictions are being carefully timed to cause as little disruption as possible to customers.
Uisce Éireann understand nighttime restrictions can cause disruption, but they are necessary to maintain a daytime supply. A mechanical fault at the Clara-Ferbane Water Treatment Plant has put extra pressure on the production of water. Crews will be working throughout the weekend to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, they’re asking all customers to use water wisely. Simple steps at home, in businesses, and in gardens can make a big difference in helping maintain regular supply across the area.”
