The pedestrian lights are back in working order at O'Moore St

LIGHTS at a pedestrian crossing in Tullamore town centre are back in working order thanks to Offaly County Council.

The lights on O'Moore St in the heart of the town were out of action for about a year posing a safety concern for pedestrians.

O'Moore St is a busy thoroughfare in the centre of Tullamore and is home to many retail outlets and businesses including the Tullamore Court Hotel.

Residents have expressed delight the developments as they were accustomed to using the lights on a daily basis.

The Cathaoirleach of Tullamore Municipal District, Cllr Declan Harvey, who has consistently called for the lights to be repaired, welcomed the news, as did his colleague Cllr Shane Murray.
