Meet an Offaly farmer's new best friend

Baby wren alights on Tullamore farmer's hand as he works in fields

TULLAMORE farmer Paul Smyth made a new best friend recently while working the land.
Paul was busy out in the fields in Aharney when a little wren chick landed on his finger and stayed put for some time.
“It appeared to be a baby wren and it did not fly off,” Paul's wife Catherine told the Tribune.
Paul walked 30 to 40 yards to get his phone to take the above photograph before his new feathered friend raised his head and flew off.
