Man allegedly stole eight bottles of champagne from Tullamore supermarket

A man has been accused of stealing eight bottles of champagne from a Tullamore supermarket.

The theft of Moet, valued at €496, was allegedly committed by Narcis Tudose (33), Finglas Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11 on January 29 last at Tesco, Cloncollig.

When the prosecution came before Tullamore District Court, Judge Fiona Brennan was told by Sergeant Brendan Kearns that the DPP had ordered that it be disposed of summarily and the matter could be adjourned for either a plea of guilty or a date for a hearing.

Judge Brennan remanded the accused on continuing bail to appear again in court June 4 next and reserved the issue of legal aid pending a statement of means.
