Change of use of this commercial unit is proposed

A TULLAMORE undertaker is planning a new funeral parlour in the county town.

PJ Lambe, David Lambe and Edel Kenny have lodged a planning application to change the use of an existing commercial unit on Main Street, Tullamore.

The premises is currently empty and the applicants say the development will also include a family bereavement room.

A drawing for the proposal indicates that the entrance will be at the gable end of the building, which is opposite a multi-storey car park on the other side of the street.

Documents lodged with Offaly County Council indicate the owner of the premises is Rita Lambe.

According to the council the application was made on February 26 and is at the pre-validation stage.

Submissions on the application must be made by April 1 and a decision is due by April 22.
