A busy road out of Tullamore is now closed due to a large tree blocking the road.

The tree is blocking the Charleville Road just past The Fingerboard and before the roundabout heading towards Mucklagh.

In an update, Offaly County Council says that many of roads remain blocked with fallen trees and debris - including at Mucklagh, Clonminch and several locations around Tullamore.

Offaly County Council says it is still in the assessment stage post Storm Éowyn and will not be in a position to remove all fallen debris and trees today.

The public are reminded to not approach any fallen trees or remove debris from the public roadway as they could hide fallen wires.
