New Deputy Principal appointed to secondary school in Offaly
A new Deputy Principal has been appointed to a secondary school in Offaly
Colaiste Naomh Cormac has announced the appointment of their new Deputy Principal, Mr. Mark Lyons.
An Offaly native, Mark hails from Belmont in the west of the county. Mark holds an Arts degree from Maynooth University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Limerick.
He has also earned a Postgraduate Diploma and a Master's degree in Education Leadership and Management from Maynooth University.
Additionally, he has experience working with Oide, a support service which provides professional development and support to teachers and schools.
Most recently Mark has been a teacher of Maths and Business in Ard Scoil Chiaráin Naofa, Clara, where he had been actively involved in various extra-curricular activities.
His experience in school leadership and management is extensive, having been appointed as Assistant Principal and Acting Deputy Principal in Clara.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Mark said, “I am delighted to have been appointed Deputy Principal of CNC Kilcormac and look forward to working closely with the Principal , the dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and the entire school community. I recognise the vital role CNC Kilcormac plays in the local community and aim to strengthen and build upon the strong relationships between the school and its surroundings.
“I am also eager to advance the educational pathways and opportunities for CNC Kilcormac students and am excited about contributing to the school's future.”
The Principal, Victoria Guinan, the staff and the whole school community are delighted to welcome Mark to Coláiste Naomh Cormac and look forward to Mark’s contribution to the continued success of the school.
