She is sadly missed by her loving and darling daughter Zara and her dad, father Danny and mother Rose, sisters Orla, Aoife, Ashling and Grainne, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and a large circle of friends.

The family would like to thank the community for their "help and understanding" at this sad and difficult time.

Hundreds of condolences have been expressed online on RIP.ie, with mourners describing Kate as "gentle" and "beautiful".
One person wrote, "My sincerest condolences to the O’Shea and extended family on the untimely passing of Cathy. I had the pleasure of knowing Cathy and older sister Orla during our time at the Brigidines. Cathy had the gift of the gab and never took anything too seriously - you were always guaranteed a good laugh in her company. I have nothing but the fondest of memories of Cathy - rest now with the angels RIP."

Another commented, "Bitterly cruel world... to lose someone so young... heartfelt condolences to you all on the deeply sad loss of a beautiful lady. May her memories bring ye happiness when needed. Rest in peace."

Another person wrote, "Shocked to hear this news. Kate had a fabulous enthusiasm and presence that brought a smile to my face every time we met over the last 15 years working together. Kate will be sorely missed. Deepest condolences to all the family and friends."

May she rest in peace.
