Solicitor allegedly assaulted at courthouse in Midlands while consulting with prisoner in a holding cell
Gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry after a solicitor was allegedly assaulted in Portlaoise Courthouse.
It’s understood the solicitor was punched a number of times in the face while consulting with a prisoner in a holding cell at the courthouse on Monday, June 17.
It's understood the man attended the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise where he received treatment for facial injuries.
The matter is being investigated by Portlaoise Gardaí. They have said they are following a definite line of inquiry in relation to the alleged assault.
