Defendants charged with illegally parking caravan on roadside in Offaly
TWO defendants promised to move their illegally parked caravan during last week's Tullamore Court sitting.
The case was brought by Offaly County Council against Thomas and Eileen Doyle, Drumbane, Birr.
They were charged with illegally parking their caravan in Drumbane, Birr on May 31, 2023. A Director of Services in the Council told the Courts Service that the Doyles “failed to comply with a notice issued under Section 10 of the Housing (miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992 as amended by section 32 of the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act 1998.”
The court was told that the caravan was parked on a public road, which was an inappropriate location.
Judge Cody adjourned the case to May 8 next, adding that he will strike out the matter on that day if there is no further issue.
