Offaly pub with famous owner named in Sunday World Pub Spy top 10 for 2023
An Offaly pub has been named among the top 10 visited by the Sunday World's famous secret drinker Pub Spy in 2023.
The Pub Spy segment in the Sunday World is still as popular as ever with the secret punter travelling the country to sample pubs and their pints.
Tullamore's latest addition, The Old Warehouse, owned by champion golfer Shane Lowry, has made the cut and was listed among the cream of the crop by Pub Spy.
In the Old Commando's review of Lowry's pub, which opened around Christmas 2022, the veteran drinker said:
"A great start to the year when Pub Spy and the team visited the beautiful new boozer belonging to golfing superstar Shane Lowry.
"Having just opened at Christmas 2022, the Old Commando was itching to check it out and we were so thrilled that we did.
"The furnishings are out of this world and the Old Commando was content to stay in the snug indefinitely as he inspected the treasure trove of Offaly GAA memorabilia.
"A wonderful addition to Tullamore town, it must be said."
