A photo of a burnt extension reel which went up in flames because it was not fully unwound has been shared by the fire service.
Dublin Fire Brigade uploaded the photo of the charred remains to remind people that they should always fully unwind extension reels to prevent it from overheating and catching fire.
The photo taken by Dublin Fire Brigade is from a recent call-out to an Industrial unit fire on Friday last.
A DFB post on Facebook said: "#DidYouKnow When using an extension reel it is important to unwind it fully to prevent it from overheating and catching fire"
