Offaly woman scoops Teacher of Year award

CATHERINE McAuliffe, a Sixth Class teacher from St Philomena’s National School, Tullamore has won this year’s Teacher of the Year Award at the recent Our World Irish Aid Awards.

The announcement was made at an event at O’Reilly Hall, UCD which saw pupils and teachers from 13 schools across the country gathered to celebrate their collective success at a ceremony hosted by Clara Murray.

The project submitted by Catherine’s Sixth Class pupils, along with those created by the 12 other finalists, features on a host of bus shelters across the country, as well as in a special online exhibition on the Our World Irish Aid Awards website www.ourworldirishaidawards.ie, and in the 2023 Global Goal Getters annual digital magazine which is also available online.
