Stormy conditions will hit all of Ireland today with Met Eireann forecasting very strong winds in all areas.
A series of weather warnings have been issued including a Status Orange Storm Warning for some coastal areas.
A Status Orange Storm Warning is in place from Slyne Head to Erris Head to Rossan Point and from Carnsore Point to Roche's Point to Slyne Head. Met Eireann is warning that winds will reach storm force 10 at times.
Two Status Yellow Weather Warnings are also in place for Ireland. A Status Yellow Wind Warning for Leinster, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary and Waterford.
Met Eireann is warning that very strong northwest winds will develop widespread gusts of 80 to 110 km/h expected, stronger in exposed areas. That warning is in place from 8am to 8pm.
A separate Status Yellow Wind Warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Galway warns of very strong west to northwest winds developing. Widespread gusts of 80 to 110 km/h expected, stronger in coastal areas and over higher ground. Wave overtopping in coastal areas. That warning remains in place until 3pm this afternoon.
