Tullamore mourns passing of Mary Teresa Lynch

The late Mary Teresa Lynch

THE death occurred on Wednesday, February 2) of Tullamore publican Mary Teresa Lynch.

Mary Teresa Lynch (nee Egan) passed away peacefully at her home on Rahan Road, surrounded by her loving family.

She had been predeceased in 2016 by her husband Hugh, with whom she ran the public house on Kilbride Street in Tullamore.

A post on the Hugh Lynch's Bar Tullamore Facebook page said: “Our lovely Mammy passed away peacefully this morning. She came to Tullamore in 1971 with Hugh to set up and run the pub following her nursing career. She volunteered in many community groups and organisations. We would like to thank everyone who cared for her over the past few months. May she rest in peace. Hugo, Catherine, Ciarán and Emmet.”

Along with her four children Hugh, Catherine, Ciaran and Emmet, she is survived by grandchildren, sisters Triona and Margaret and sister-in-law Eileen Breslin.

Her remains will be reposing at O'Reilly's Funeral Home, Harbour Street, Tullamore, on Thursday evening from 5.30pm until Rosary at 7.30pm.

The removal will take place from her home on Friday morning at 9.30am to the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial will take place after Mass in Clonminch Cemetery, Tullamore (house private).
