Following his final round on Sunday, where Lowry briefly got back into contention, the Clara man posted: "The greatest walk in golf and I got to do it for the last 4 days. There is nothing like the buzz of being in the hunt at The Open at the weekend. Gutted I didn’t do better but thanks everyone for their support. It doesn’t go unnoticed. Well done @xanderschauffele. Lowry's next big outing on the golf course will be in Paris when he lines out in the green of Ireland at the Olympics alongside Rory McIlroy.
